Fr. Daniel J. Mahan comes out with a book featuring a collection of his Stewardship homilies. The book is entitled More than Silver or Gold.
What is stewardship? Fr. Mahan describes it as a “way of life” which is rooted in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The book offers valuable insights which will bring the reader in the direction of sharing his or her time, talent, and treasure for the good of the church and of others.
This book will allow you to learn about and appreciate more the Catholic faith. You will gain a new understanding about the Holy Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary, among others. In reading about the characteristics of a good steward and in going through the various stories in the book, the reader is sure to be touched and you may have the Holy Spirit speak to you personally in a very special way.
Stewardship is all about faith, trust, and in finding out what the Lord wants you to do. The Lord has a mission for you that only you can accomplish. Through prayer, we can discover how we are all called to be stewards.
Nothing we have is ever really ours. We are all asked to share of our resources, including our material blessings, and we are all invited to discover a treasure that is worth more than silver or gold.
